While I was standing under my spiritual tree, I understood something very unique. If a very important book is prepared on horticulture that explains how a tree is grown, how soil is made, how water should be arranged and which seeds should be sown, all these are details of the technique of horticulture. If such a book is then given to a farmer, will he become the owner of a farm just because of that book?

No indeed! In the Quran, God has provided the art of marifat. The Hadith provides us this knowledge. Details of marifat are available in the Quran and Hadith.  But will these written details be enough to give you marifat? The Quran says: يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيرًا (2:26)

Who will be led astray? If a farmer gets a very good book on horticulture and he keeps it in his house, will he then be able to have a farm? To have a farm, you have to read books, learn the art of horticulture, follow the methods described and also wait for a long period. It would take 10-20 years to have a farm. Then will he be able to own a farm. God has revealed the Quran and the Prophet has explained it in detail in Hadith. Everything is available in the form of books. But having books alone will not give you marifat or give you entry to Paradise or grant you guidance.  That is possible only when just like the farmer, you adopt the guidance described in books. The farmer has to work hard for years to grow a farm. You also will have to do the same. There is no other way of gaining marifat.
